How a multinational beverage company integrated IoT and ERP to gain real-time visibility of national logistics.
Legacy telemetry system without integration was transformed into a complete platform connecting IoT devices, ERP and mobile app for drivers, enabling strategic decisions based on consolidated data.
About the project
A multinational beverage company operating at national scale faced critical challenges in managing its distribution fleet. The legacy telemetry system worked in isolation, without ERP integration, creating information silos and preventing strategic decisions based on consolidated data. IoT data was fragmented, there was no real-time visibility of fleet and cargo, and drivers still recorded deliveries and incidents manually.
The problem that motivated the project
Main challenges faced
- Legacy telemetry system without ERP integration
- Fragmented IoT data (tracking, sensors, location)
- Lack of real-time visibility of fleet and cargo
- Manual process for recording incidents and deliveries
- Impossibility of strategic decisions based on consolidated data
How we solved the problem
We developed a complete integration solution that connected multiple systems: maintenance of legacy telemetry applications to ensure stable operation, creation of IoT integration solution connecting devices to central systems, construction of BI platform for vehicle and cargo tracking, development of mobile app for drivers with delivery and incident recording, plus integration APIs and executive dashboards for real-time decision making.
Architecture Highlights
- Legacy application maintenance maintaining stable and continuous operation
- IoT integration solution connecting telemetry devices to central systems
- BI platform for real-time vehicle and cargo tracking and monitoring
- Mobile app for drivers with delivery, incident and occurrence recording
- Integration APIs between IoT, ERP and mobile applications
- Executive dashboards for strategic decision making based on consolidated data
- Complete DevOps for deployment and continuous monitoring

Concepts in 30 seconds
Important technical concepts explained simply and connected to the project.
Vehicle telemetry
Automatic collection of fleet data (location, speed, consumption, stops) via embedded devices. Basis for route optimization and operational cost reduction.
IoT + ERP Integration
Connection between physical devices in field (sensors, trackers) and enterprise management systems. Field data feeds real-time business decisions.
Real-time events
Architecture where occurrences (delivery, incident, route deviation) trigger automatic actions: notifications, status updates, alerts for managers.
Operational BI
Business Intelligence focused on field operations. Dashboards that transform raw telemetry data into actionable insights for decision making.
Lessons and learnings
Reflections and recommendations based on the experience of this project.
Legacy telemetry systems can rarely be replaced at once — coexistence is the strategy
Drivers need simple and fast apps; complexity results in low adoption
IoT data generates massive volume — ingestion architecture needs to be thought from the start
Executive and operational dashboards have different needs; don't try to unify in a single view
